DFU Hockey 2008: the impossible dream?

Yes it's that time of year again. The 2008 DFU Hockey campaign begins tonight. The latest press release from team captain Josh Kernoff:
Here is our schedule for the season:

FIRST GAME = THIS TUESDAY NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Tues Jan 15 @ 11:15pm v. "the handlers" (lame team name...)
Thurs Jan 24 @ 10:15pm vs. "DMC"
Tues Jan 29 @ 10:30pm v. "Bluth"
Thurs Feb 14 @ 11pm v. "MacEachrans"

So we're in the Moosilauke men's league (no co-ed) this year... but that DOESN"T excuse women from missing games because we need players....

now... they've made it a little tougher to clear this year, only one team from each subdivision makes playoffs, which means we have to win all of our games to make playoffs, but i think this just might be the year we do it....
No word yet from the representative of The Handlers, nor any mention of what DFU Hockey's General Manager Josh Kernoff has been up to in the offseason. Some pundits have suggested that the team could use at least one more attacking attacking option to expand the attacking options and relieve some of the pressure on the team's all-time leading scorer Josh Kernoff. Another priority is likely to be securing a bruising defender capable of providing additional protection for star goalkeeper Kade Olsen.

It remains to be seen whether any Canadian ringers can be found to fill these holes. Absent firm word, the bookmakers have set the current odds for the team's playoff chances at 857,000:1. Get your money in now...
